Sunday April 13 – GURU NANAK SIKH SOCIETY GURDWARA celebrates the birth of Khalsa with a parade starting at 11 a.m. at the gurdwara, 4144 Eighth Ave. There will be music, martial arts, food booths and the parade from Eighth Avenue to 10th Avenue, up and down Roger and Redford streets.

Saturday April 5 – PAINT NIGHT at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 293 (4680 Victoria Quay). Doors open at 6 p.m. and art begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 and are available at the legion lounge. For more information, call 250-723-7513.

Friday March 28 – ADONIS PUENTES, celebrated Cuban singer/ sonwgwriter/ Sonero, performs with Port Alberni’s Brent Jarvis on piano at Char’s Landing (4815 Argyle St.), 6:30 p.m. Opening will be Andy Paul Durocher, guitarist/ singer/ songwriter. Sunday April 13 – The Guru Nanak Sikh Society invites you to attend our first annual Vaisakhi Parade on Sunday, April 13th, between 11:00 am and 1 pm. We will gather at the Guru Nanak Sikh Society Gurdwara at 4144 8th Avenue. We will celebrate our Sikh heritage and the birth of Khalsa. There will be music, martial arts, food booths and a parade.

Sunday March 23 – THE BARRY MILLER QUARTET performs at Char’s Landing. Music is ongoing from 6-8 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Voluntary gratuity is appreciated. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks or supper. Beverage bar is open.
